Gedem Construction Company Actively Engaged in Construction of Bridges Along Barentu-Tessenei Road

Barentu — The construction of a bridge along the Barentu-Tessenei road through the Gedem Construction Company is nearing finalization, according to Mr. Fukadu Tekle, head of the Company’s branch office in Gash-Barka region.

He indicated that a 1 km-long wall has been constructed to protect the Gash Bridge along the Alebu-Fiesko route from any possible accident. Similar walls have also been constructed in the bridges of Grasha, Adi-Keshi and Alebu along the Alebu-Tessenei road, he added.

Reports indicate the construction of the time-consuming Mekete Bridge which is the first of its kind in terms of both shape and structure is nearing finalization, and that it is expected to render service shortly.

Traveling from Asmara to Omhajer that used to take 3 days has now been minimized to hours thanks to the construction of bridges, the report added.

The construction of the 8 meter high and 116 meter long Gash Bridge and the 22 meter high and 115 long Tokombia Bridge are some of the major achievements of the Gedem Construction Company which won broad acclaims.
