Over 470 graduate from Hamelmalo College of Agriculture

 Hamelmalo, Eritrea: 11 October 2008 – A total of 473 students graduated today in Degree and Diploma from the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture.

The Dean of the College, Mr. Semere Amlesom, congratulated the graduates and their parents. He indicated that the graduating batch include one in Masters, 134 in degree and 338 in diploma, and added that 23% of the graduates are females.

Also speaking on the occasion representing President Isaias Afwerki, Chancellor of Institutions of Higher Learning, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that educating greater number of professionals constitute a driving force for the ongoing efforts to achieve food security. He also stated that the graduates are expected to play significant role in developing the newly introduced modern agricultural technology.

A representative of the graduating bath said on his part that they would work diligently to reinforce endeavors to develop the agricultural sector.

The College that opened in 2005 is graduating students for the first time. Present on the occasion were ministers, regional Administrators, Army commanders, religious leaders, invited guests and parents.
