President Isaias Afwerki returns home concluding working visit to Qatar and Dubai Aug 24, 2008

Asmara, 24 August 2008 – President Isaias Afwerki returned home last night concluding a three-day working visit to Qatar and Dubai, UAE.

During his stay in Qatar, the President held talks with Emir Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thani and other government officials on enhancing bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern to both countries. Also in the course of his working visit to Dubai, President Isaias visited the Free Trade Zone, tourism sites and infrastructure projects. He observed the Free Trade Zone in Jebel Ali that was established in 1984 and in which over 7 thousand companies operate. Moreover, the President visited Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, PFDJ Secretary, who is receiving medical treatment in Dubai.
