National Defence Force Takes Full Control of Mekele City

Addis Ababa, November 28, 2020 (FBC) – Chief of the army General Birhanu Jula has announced that the National Defence force has fully captured Mekele City in a statement issued this evening.

The chief of Army congratulated all Ethiopians over the victory and the People of Tigray in particular for being liberated from the oppression of the TPLF Junta.

General Birhanu said the national army has taken full control of Mekele city as per a military plan made during the previous days with out causing collateral damage to the people in the city.

According to the Chief of Staff of the Army, the TPLF Junta wSill be brought to justice with in short period of time as part of the final law enforcement operation.

Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the people of the Region of Tigray for their cooperation to the National Defence Forces during the law enforcement measures in all places across the region.

The people of Tiray have practically shown that they are not with the TPLF Junta, the Premier said.



Arrest warrant issued for 27 more military officers accused of treason, robbery

Addis Ababa, November 28, 2020 (FBC) – The Federal Police has announced issuance of arrest Warrant for military officers indicted for treason and crime of embezzlement of public properties and individuals at home and abroad who are accused of spreading provocative information intended to dismantle the nation.

In addition to the 117 Generals and higher military officers whose arrest warrant has been issued so far in connection with treason, the Federal Police Commission issued the warrant for military officers listed below.

The Federal police urged the public to inform its Crime Protection Bureau through a phone number 0111551200 about the whereabouts of the properties of the military officers accused of the robbery crimes.

Police has also announced a free call address 861 to receive information on the whereabouts of the properties and encouraged informers to give information through physical presence at its Crime Investigation Bureau.

Police also listed names of individuals who are accused of spreading offensive information through various media outlets at home and abroad with an intention to dismantle the nation. They are:
