Eritrean Yacob Debesay Wins Stage Seven Tour Rwanda

Eritrea’s Yacob Debesay won the 84.1km penultimate stage of the Tour du Rwanda in Kigali today.

 

 

Debesay soloed to victory in 2:12:35, beating Delko Marseille Provence’s Alessandro Fedeli by 21 seconds. Interpro Cycling Academy’s Adrien Guillonnet completed the podium.

Astana Pro’s Merhawi Kudus crashed on the descent before the final climb, but quickly got up and managed to retain the yellow jersey.

 

 

South African Rohan du Plooy, of ProTouch, consolidated the sprinter’s jersey after taking the first intermediate sprint. His teammate Calvin Beneke however abandoned the race.
