Addis Ababa, November 13, 2018 (FBC) –Police have detained Major General Kinfe Dagnew, former Director General of the state-owned Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC).

 

 

The Federal Attorney General told Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) Major General Kinfe arrived in Addis Ababa today after he was arrested as he tried to flee to neighboring Sudan via Humera, Tigray regional state.

 

 

He is expected to appear in court not later than 48 hours after his arrest.

 

 

Attorney General Berhanu Tsegaye yesterday said 28 suspects have been arrested from METEC on allegations of corruption.

 

 

They appeared in court yesterday. The court adjourned the next hearing until November 26, 2018.
