A Cultural Symposium Featuring the People-to People Ties Between Ethiopia and Eritrea Opens in Addis


A cultural symposium that aimed at strengthening the people-to-people ties between Ethiopia and Eritrea opened on Friday (August 17) at Ethiopia Hotel. The symposium which brought together 500 participants drawn from Ethiopians and Eritreans residing in Addis Ababa was attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Fozia Amin, State Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret, Director General of Public Diplomacy and Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Nega Tsegaye and officials from both countries as well as invited guests.



On the occasion, Mrs. Fozia Amin underscored the importance of such cultural events, which she said, was vital to advance the people-to-people ties between the two friendly nations. A trio of presentations were made that focused on the traditional costume ties between the people of the two countries, ways to enhance the cultural and linguistic ties, and the need for cultural collaboration between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
