Eritrean Metkel Eyob Wins First Place in Tour de Lombok Stage 1

Eritrea’s Fastest Racer on Stage I Tour de Lombok | April 13, 2018





REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM – Eritrean racer Metkel Eyob became the fastest in the Tour de Lombok Mandalika (TdLM) 2018 first stage route of Kuta Beach Mandalika-Mataram on Friday (13/4). Eritrea is a country located in the northeastern part of Africa.



Eritrea borders with Sudan to the west, Ethiopia to the south, and Djibouti to the southeast. Metkel which is part of Trengganu Cycling Club team recorded the fastest time with 1 hour 52 minutes and 14 seconds in route as far as 88.4 Km.



The second ranks are UAE UA Ali Yousif Mohammed Ahmed Mirza Al Hamadi at 1:52:15 or one second and followed by Singapore’s Choon Huat Goh from Trengganu Cycling Club team in third place with time is 1:52:20.



All three are participants from TDLM 2018 followed by 86 participants consisting of 18 teams from 24 countries. Bicycle racing took place fiercely since the start at Kuta Beach Mandalika, Central Lombok regency, at 14.00 WITA to end in front of the Office of the Governor of NTB, Jalan Pejanggik, Mataram City.



Indonesia put three riders in the top 10. Robin Manulang from PGN Road Cycling Team perched in fifth position with 1:52:24, followed by Aiman ​​Cahyadi from Team Sapura Cycling in sixth place with 1:52:27 record. Meanwhile, Abdul Gani from KFC Cycling Team took 10th place with a record 1.53.44.



Kuta-Mataram Beach Route is the first stele of three stages. Two other stages, 160 km of Mataram-Sembalun will be held on Saturday (14/4) and the stele surrounds in Mataram City as far as 121 Km on Sunday (15/4).
