Remains of Missing Woman Possibly Found in Antioch | November 12, 2015

ANTIOCH, TN (WSMV) – Police said they may have found the skeletal remains of a woman who was reported missing last fall.

Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said Genet Haile was reportedly having suicidal thoughts before she went missing.

According to Aaron, Haile was visiting Nashville from Virginia and had only been in the city for a few weeks.

Haile was 45 when her family reported her missing.

The bones were found just before 9 p.m. Monday in a wooded area along the 600 block of Piccadilly Row.

Cold case detectives said the remains are at least 80 to 100 feet in the woods and are not visible from the street. They also found clothing and other personal belongings belonging to Haile.

Neighbors said this has been a disturbing find for families in the area.

“I’ve lived here all my life, really. It’s shocking. It’s terrifying,” said Adrian Sandoval of Antioch. “There’s no other feeling, knowing you have children in the house.”

Sandoval said he is shielding his sister and niece, both 3 years old, from seeing the crime scene in front of the house.

“They know something’s going on, but they’re not old enough to be aware of what’s going on,” Sandoval said.

Officials will not be able to confirm the woman's identity until the medical examiner finishes the report.
